To personally explore the deep ocean requires a deep-diving submersible.

These specialized submarines are engineered to operate safely at great depths, and can take humans up to 100 times deeper than scuba diving depths. Modern deep-diving submersibles are safe, efficient and comfortable, enabling dives as long as 16 hours.    

About three fifths of the Earth’s surface is covered by water more than a mile deep, but only six submersibles in operation today can descend to the average depth of the ocean.

The deep ocean is our planet’s last frontier, and very few people have journeyed there. When you dive there you will be joining an exclusive club. Many oceanographers spend their entire career studying the deep ocean without ever visiting it in person.
