DEEP AUSTRALIA PROPOSAL RELEASED

A proposal to dive deep around the Australian coast with DeepOcean Quest and the Deep Rover submersibles was launched this week. It is intended the project will circumnavigate Australia anti-clockwise for 6 months starting in August 2005 whilst focusing on upto nine oceanic sites of interest for a "Deep Australia" documentary series.

The sites to be dived on include the Bonney Upwellings, the Murray Canyons, the general deep abyss, HMAS Australia, Blue Whales and more. It is the intention of the DeepOcean Quest joint venture company to film these varied and special sites in co-operation with the Australian scientific community.

A companion book to the television series will be written by acclaimed Deep New Zealand author, Peter Batson. The project is currently seeking additional partners from the science community. Copies of the proposal can be requested from info@deepoceanexpeditions.com
